"Happiness is not a destination..."

All three of us have told what makes us happy and what happiness is to us. So I started to think about what I should write now and then I remembered a picture my sister has.

My sister has a text written in her apartment: “Happiness is not a destination, happiness is way of life.” It might sound really cheesy but it's true. You can't think that you're doing things so you can be happy in couple of years. No! You should think that you're doing things because it makes you happy now and because you like it or love it. You need to live in the moment, you only live once, YOLO, just do it. Now I sound like a Nike commercial and 12-year-old girl's T-shirt, but you can't worry about the future. If you want to eat that whole package of Ben&Jerry's, do it and worry about the consequences later. Don't work out now so you can eat that whole package next year when you're skinny. Eat now, work out later. Or don't work out at all. Do whatever you want as long as you are happy!

Let's go back to the happiness is not a destination thing. That doesn't go with everything. You have to work so you can eat next month and stuff like that. But what you can do, is that your work can be something that you love. Actually, it's wrong to say that your work can be something that you love, your work should be something that you love. Lucky for us, we can be whatever we want when we grow up. But seriously, you should do things that guarantee you a better life in the future but not things that are similar to that ice cream thing. You should be working to get paid, you should pay taxes so you could have what the country is offering and that when you are old, you can have pension. But you shouldn't be working out so you can eat ice cream, you shouldn't be crying now so there won´t be anything to cry about tomorrow.

I think that what the sentence in the picture is trying to say is that you should do things that make you happy. Work hard if you want to buy expensive tickets to your favourite artist's concert, take risks and trust someone so that she or he can someday be your best friend, do these kinds of things.
